A couple of months ago we posted a demo video of our paperless hearing calendar or “digital bulletin board” in its beta phase. After some adjustments to the UI and updates to the functionality, we’re proud to release the first iteration of the final product!

These monitors are bigger, brighter and better than the previous version on a small personal tablet.

Last month we launched the prototype demo of our new digital bulletin board as part of a green paperless initiative!

Presently, when hearings are deferred or there are updates to the agenda, time, location, etc., paper copies of the amendments are printed and distributed to City Hall and several floors at 250 Broadway. The idea to have a paperless solution has been in the works for a long time, but only now did we have ability to push this project forward.

Today, the City Council held its first paperless Stated full Council meeting! This pilot is meant to find ways for the Council to streamline its operations, reduce paper waste, and improve how legislation is written.

We began the integration of Microsoft Surface tablets into the Council’s Stated meeting as a means of testing how technology can help Members view or easily search documents, reduce the use of volumes of paper and the preparation time involved with copying and distribution, and modernize the way the Council conducts its business.
