River Run Playground Renovation: We need your input! We’ve reached an important
milestone in the renovation the of River Run Playground in Riverside Park: a proposed
design (funded by $6.89 million from my office). Visit my River Run webpage at council.
nyc.gov/gale-brewer/river-run-playground
and review the plans. Then, please email your
thoughts to me at district6@council.nyc.gov and MhBoroCapital@park.nyc.gov with the
subject line “River Run.” (One caveat: the proposal does not include renovating the
playground bathroom—that part of the project needs separate funding, but we’re working
on it!) Parks will present again at CB7 Parks Committee meeting on 10/20 at 6:30 pm.

Monday, 9/29, 6–8 pm, Goddard Riverside (593 Columbus Avenue at W 88 St.):
CPR and Narcan Training for Bystanders with reps from FDNY and Ryan Health Center,
who will teach these lifesaving techniques (note that the CPR training is compression
only and non-certification). Limited space; RSVP at bit.ly/Narcan25.

Saturday, 10/4, 12–3 pm, Riverside Park Info Center on the Hudson River Greenway
nearest W. 96th St: Celebrate City of Forest Day with the Riverside Park Conservancy.
Pick up a “Tree Explorer’s Guide” to the park’s Forever Wild woodlands, make your own
leaf pressing and cyanotype craft projects, enjoy fall snacks, and learn how to care for
NYC’s urban forest. Learn about at forestforall.nyc.
