The 2025 Fresh Food for Seniors program is returning for its 13th year! Begun during my tenure as Borough President—and continued in partnership with B.P. Mark Levine—the program offers a bag of locally-grown fresh produce for $10 (a $25+ value) throughout the growing season.

It’s pay-as-you go, not a CSA-like subscription, so it’s a great value with no need for a commitment—just a little advance planning. Signup is simple: pay $10 cash about two weeks in advance at our prime pickup site, Goddard Riverside Older Adult Center (593 Columbus at 88th St). Then come get your produce on pickup day, between 1 – 3 pm at Goddard (don’t come early!).

For the first pickup only, we’re taking orders on 6/25–6/27, between 11 am and 4 pm at my District Office (563 Columbus Ave. at 87th St; please make sure to bring $10 in cash—no Venmo or EBT!). Then pick up your order at Goddard on 7/9 between 1–3 pm.

Going forward, the schedule of pay-in-advance and pickups is as follows:

  • Order on July 9 ➜ Pick up July 23
  • Order on July 23 ➜ Pick up Aug 6
  • Order on Aug 6 ➜ Pick up Aug 20
  • Order on Aug 20 ➜ Pick up Sept 3
  • Order on Sept 3 ➜ Pick up Sept 17
