“I commend Representatives Maloney, Nadler, and Velázquez for their continued advocacy for New York residents who are experiencing worsening helicopter noise. Helicopter-related noise complaints to 311 have gone up in New York City over 2300% in the last five years, and the vast majority of complaints come from Manhattan. The proposed bill is a smart approach modeled after the Air Tour Management Plan legislation from 2000 that has improved protections for National Parks from helicopter-related noise,” said Council Member Gale A. Brewer (D-06).
