Statement on Holy Week

Today marks the beginning of religious observances throughout the month of April across all faiths – Christianity, Judaism, and Islam. As customary, faith leaders would host services in observance of Palm Sunday, Passover, Good FridayEaster, and Ramadan. Unfortunately, this year will be anything but usual as all public gatherings and religious services are banned in an effort to stop the spread of the deadly coronavirus (COVID-19).

On this day, we celebrate and honor women worldwide for their vital role in shaping and strengthening our families, communities, governments, and businesses. 

Gender has been a centuries-old hindrance in American society and across the globe. 

Women and girls have been denied an education, nontraditional employment, equal pay, merit-based promotions, reproductive freedom, the right to vote, and decide whether or whom to marry.

Hate can only prevail in the absence of humanity, which is why we must remain forever united against all forms of anti-Semitism.

Communities of color are struggling to break the cycle of poverty and preserve their right to vote.
