New York, NY — I am deeply saddened and outraged by the brutal attack on 31-year MTA veteran Myran Pollack, who was stabbed while performing his duties at the Utica Avenue station. Our transit workers are the backbone of our city’s transportation system, and they must be kept safe while keeping our city moving. We must ensure that our transit system remains a safe environment for both workers and the public. I pray Mr. Pollack makes a total and speedy recovery. My thoughts are with him and his family during this difficult time.
