Four new selections will be added to the “Women’s Voices” display

New York, NY – New York City Council Speaker Corey Johnson and the New-York Historical Society’s Center for Women’s History announced an additional round of portraits for the “Women’s Voices: Shaping the City” exhibition in City Hall. “Women’s Voices” was created last year to honor a diverse selection of women activists whose contributions to New York City history deserve public recognition.

City Hall – The New York City Council on Thursday will vote on legislation to establish a task force to consider the establishment of a museum about New York City’s African American Civil Rights History. The task force would be required to consider the feasibility of a museum and consider potential sites.

City Hall – The New York City Council on Tuesday will vote on legislation to create a “dangerous vehicle abatement program.” Under this legislation, owners who receive five red light camera violations or 15 speed camera violations within 12 months would be required to take a course on safe driving.

Reimagining Brooklyn Bridge seeks creative, unconventional designs that respect and enhance the bridge’s landmark status, think inclusively about mobility and access, and accommodate commuters, visitors, and vendors.

Starting today, more eligible New Yorkers can apply for reduced-fare MetroCards

NEW YORK – City Council Speaker Johnson and the de Blasio Administration today announced open enrollment for the City’s Fair Fares program. Starting today, all New Yorkers living at or below the federal poverty line can apply for reduced-fare MetroCards. For more information, New Yorkers should visit www.nyc.gov/fairfares.
