STATEMENT BY COUNCIL MEMBER LOUIS

“The 2020 presidential election has reinvigorated the American spirit and hope in a democratic society that is inclusive of all people, not just a select few. The historic voter registration and turnout was emblematic of our determination to send a resounding message that every vote counts and representation matters.

“Four days after Election Day, we can look forward to a future that protects the freedoms and values that have been the foundation for America as the land of opportunity.”

“The United States is now firmly on the path towards recovery from a deadly virus that has claimed the lives of over 242,000 lives, an economic crisis that has shuttered thousands of businesses, a polarized nation that has divided families, and repeated attempts to erode women’s rights and gender equality.
