BROOKLYN, NY ⁠– Council Member Farah N. Louis (D-Brooklyn) issued the following statement after 24-year-old Saqueo Mejia, a dump truck driver for Brooklyn-based Prime Junk Removal was killed when he was pinned between two of the trucks in Flatbush. The accident is under investigation by the NYPD.

STATEMENT BY COUNCIL MEMBER LOUIS

“On Friday, Saqueo Mejia, a resident of Sunset Park was killed tragically in East Flatbush, where he worked as a dump truck driver to support his family. His pursuit of the American Dream has come to a devastating end in an accident that could have been avoided. 

“I am working with Council Member Carlos Menchaca and the local precinct to address this matter and assist the affected family.

“As the NYPD conduct their investigation, my thoughts and prayers are with the Mejia family, who have lost a son, brother, and breadwinner.”
