District 35

Crystal Hudson

Fort Greene, Clinton Hill, Prospect Heights, Crown Heights

As New Yorkers adjust to changes in federal SNAP eligibility and work requirements, demand for assistance may increase across the City’s safety net programs. While the NYC Human Resources Administration (HRA) remains the primary resource for SNAP recipients, community-based organizations can provide additional support with understanding ABAWD requirements, determining exemption status, completing paperwork, and connecting to qualifying employment and training opportunities.

For assistance from HRA, call 718-SNAP-NOW (718-762-7669) or find your nearest SNAP Center at https://www.nyc.gov/site/hra/locations/snap-locations.page.

The organizations below may also be able to provide guidance and support as New Yorkers navigate these new federal requirements. If you are an organization that is assisting with new ABAWD requirements, please email us at district35@council.nyc.gov so be added to our list.
