Fiscal Year 2025 Budget Requests

The New York City Council is currently soliciting applications for Fiscal Year 2025 discretionary funding from eligible community-based organizations (must be a registered 501c3). 


Expense Funding

All nonprofit, community-based organizations that wish to apply for discretionary funding for FY2024 must submit a Council Application. The FY2025 application is available at this link and must be submitted no later than 11:59pm on Tuesday, February 20, 2024. No late applications will be accepted.

This year, our office will not hold any in-person or virtual budget meetings with groups that received discretionary funding in FY24 from our office unless there are extenuating circumstances that necessitate a meeting.


Capital Funding

Non-City organizations applying for Fiscal Year 2025 capital funding may now download and submit applications at the CapGrants portal. All groups should submit their completed applications through this portal.

Cultural organizations may view and download their applications via the Department of Cultural Affairs Capital Funding page. Your group should still submit completed applications through the CapGrants portal.

Application deadlines vary depending on the source of the funding your group has requested.

  • February 22, 2024, 5:00pm: applies if your project requests any funding from Borough Presidents (including those groups that are also requesting funding from the Council or Department of Cultural Affairs)
  • March 21, 2024, 5:00pm: applies if your project is only requesting funding from the Council and/or the Department of Cultural Affairs

Supplemental Application

Our office will not require a supplemental application for any FY25 expense or capital discretionary funding applicants. Should you wish to provide additional information about your request, you may email it to our office at District35@council.nyc.gov

The BLAC FY25 Discretionary Expense & Capital Funding meeting request form is now liveThe submission deadline is noon Friday, March 1. Please note that submission does not guarantee a meeting with the Black, Latino and Asian Caucus. Should you have questions, please contact BLAcaucus@council.nyc.gov.

Brooklyn Delegation

LGBTQIA+ Caucus

Any group interested in receiving expense or capital funding from the LGBTQIA+ Caucus should send an email to Andrew Wright (anwright@council.nyc.gov) and Nomi Tinkleman (ntinkleman@council.nyc.gov) that lists your application ID number, the amount of funding requested, the requested purpose of funds, and a brief note on why you believe the LGBTQIA+ Caucus should support your application.

Progressive Caucus

Women’s Caucus

Organizations interested in discretionary and capital funding through the Women’s Caucus should fill out the following form: https://forms.office.com/r/nMtApM9Hax. Requests for a meeting will not be accepted after February 29, 2024. Additionally, a submission does not guarantee a meeting with the Women’s Caucus.
