Today, the New York City Council will vote on legislation establishing a Division of Paid Care within the City’s Office of Labor Standards to support paid care workers. The Council will also vote on legislation requiring the New York City Department for the Aging (DFTA) to survey unpaid caregivers and service providers to assess existing services and to develop and release a comprehensive citywide plan in conjunction with other city agencies and community partners to address the needs of unpaid caregivers.
