The New York City Council’s Office of Intergovernmental Affairs represents and advocates on behalf of the Speaker and Council Members on issues affecting New York City on the local, state and federal levels. We are seeking an energetic and focused Summer Intern to join our team. The start date for this internship is June 1, 2026.
SALARY RANGE:
Hourly rate of $32.05
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide day-to-day administrative and operational support to the division.
- Research data, proofread documents and assist in creating and/or distributing materials for presentations.
- Perform data entry and other administrative tasks.
- Perform other duties, as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- One to two years of administrative or clerical experience helpful.
- High school graduate or equivalent. Some college preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented with a proactive, hands-on mindset.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Working knowledge and ability to utilize desktop computers with software packages such as Microsoft Office and other software programs.

New York City residency is required within 90 days of appointment.
