NEW YORK ––– Council Member Farah Louis (D-Brooklyn), Vice Co-Chair of the Black, Latino, and Asian Caucus, issued the following statement after a fatal shooting in East Flatbush on Wednesday night. The shooting is being investigated by the NYPD.

STATEMENT BY COUNCIL MEMBER FARAH LOUIS

“I am deeply saddened by the horrific shooting on Church Avenue Wednesday night that took the life of a 33-year-old man. I want to offer my deepest condolences to the victim’s family and loved ones. While there are no words we can say to bring the victim back, we must pledge to work together to address the latest increase in gun violence. As a member of the New York City Council, I will continue to prioritize the public health and safety of all our citizens and make New York a safer place to live.”
