FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Bronx, NY  — On Sunday morning, April 6th, Council Member Eric Dinowitz proudly presented a check for $50,000 to Mosaic Mental Health leaders at Mosaic Mental Health’s 16th Annual 5K at the corner of Van Cortlandt Park and Broadway in Riverdale, reinforcing his strong and consistent commitment to expanding access to mental health care and crisis intervention in District 11. Council Member Dinowitz was joined by Assembly Member Jeffrey Dinowitz in providing remarks at the presentation, who is also a longtime advocate for bolstering healthcare access and support services in the Bronx.

This investment will help expand Mosaic’s crisis intervention programming and mental health support services, including trauma-informed care for survivors of domestic violence. Council Member Dinowitz has made mental health equity a cornerstone of his legislative and budgetary priorities, consistently securing funding to ensure Bronx residents have access to quality, community-based care.

Mosaic Mental Health has long been a trusted provider of compassionate, accessible mental health in the Bronx. At the presentation, staff and leadership spoke about the growing demand for services and how this funding will help them reach more residents in need of support.

“I’m proud to secure this $50,000 investment in Mosaic Mental Health to expand their crisis intervention and domestic violence support services,” said Council Member Eric Dinowitz. “Mosaic shows up every day for people in crisis and provide care with dignity, compassion, and professionalism. I will continue fighting for the resources Mosaic needs to grow their impact and reach more people who are in need of their services in the district.”

“Mosaic Mental Health is a cornerstone in our community for those seeking help, support and healing,” said Assembly Member Jeffrey Dinowitz. “I’m proud to stand with Council Member Eric Dinowitz in supporting this incredible organization that continues to meet the evolving needs of our neighbors with care and dedication.”

“We are incredibly grateful to Council Member Dinowitz for his ongoing and generous support of Mosaic Mental Health, said Mosaic Executive Director, Dr. Donna Demetri Friedman. “This funding allows us to expand our crisis intervention and domestic violence programs- services that are more essential than ever as we see a growing need for accessible, community-based mental health care in the Bronx.”
