New York, NY–– Council Member Eric Dinowitz today joined elected officials, community members, and local artists at W. 231st Street & Broadway to celebrate the completion of three new murals across the North Bronx, which were installed in partnership with the Kingsbridge-Riverdale-Van Cortlandt Development Corporation (KRVC). The murals, located at W. 231st & Broadway, Kappock Street & Knolls Crescent, and West 238th Street & Bailey Avenue, were funded by Council Member Dinowitz as part of his commitment to supporting public art and beautifying the Bronx.
The murals, each designed and painted by local artists, reflect the beauty, diversity, and community spirit of the local neighborhoods. Council Member Dinowitz emphasized that this initiative was made possible thanks to collaboration with local stakeholders, including KRVC, as well as property owners, and residents. He also emphasized his demonstration of supporting beautification, and arts & culture across District 11, including his continuous support for ACE New York, which provides supplemental sanitation that keeps the streets and sidewalks clean, improving the quality of life in neighborhoods throughout New York City, as well as KRVC, the Jerome-Gun Hill BID, the Hort, and the Van Cortlandt Park Alliance (VCPA), which also focus their efforts in beautifying the North Bronx.
“These murals reflect the creativity, diversity, and pride that make the Bronx the vibrant borough we call home. They also represent just one element of my ongoing efforts to beautify the neighborhoods that make up our community,” said Council Member Eric Dinowitz. “In the FY26 adopted budget, I secured hundreds of thousands of dollars to support local groups and organizations dedicated to cleaning our streets, cultivating more greenery, removing graffiti, and providing programming that celebrates the arts and culture that make our borough so special. I’m thrilled to see these murals completed in the heart of Kingsbridge and Riverdale – right near my district office and where I was born and raised – and I will continue fighting to preserve and enhance the beauty of the North Bronx.”
