HeARTwork Against Hate: A Bronx Student’s Vision for a Hate-free NYC.

Our future is bright when our youth uses their voices and creativity to stand up for what matters. That’s exactly what Weijing Lin, a 10th grader at Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts, did in this year’s HeARTwork Against Hate contest with their piece City of Love (2025).

Their artwork brings together young people of different backgrounds, standing side by side under the words “New York City Love.” Each figure wears a t-shirt with letters and symbols that, altogether, read “Love, Not Hate”

Weijing, if you are reading this, thank you for participating in HeARTwork Against Hate and for upholding the values that keep the Bronx and our city focused on love, respect, and unity. Young leaders like you remind us that New York City is in good hands.
