Mayor Eric Adams hosted a community conversation at the Manhattanville Community Center on Monday, the latest in a series of public meetings offering residents and community stakeholders the opportunity to engage in direct dialogue with the administration.

Along with a panel of other officials, Adams spoke to a full room of community members on questions spanning a range of issues affecting West Harlem and New York City as a whole, including the citywide trash containerization rollout, influx of people seeking asylum, and safety concerns in New York City Housing Authority complexes.

NEW YORK CITY – NYC Councilman Shaun Abreu is proposing a bill that will make it easier to tip deliveristas on food delivery apps. It’s a two-measure bill:

  1. To allow app users to tip at checkout
  2. To set a minimum gratuity of 10% of an order’s total

It was supposed to be a big win for delivery workers in New York City, but a new law requires that they be paid a certain wage.

A City Council member wants to give New Yorkers a big discount whenever grocery stores charge them more for items than the lowest advertised price, amNewYork Metro has learned.

Under the proposed legislation, the text of which amNewYork Metro obtained, customers would have legal recourse to get products for free if what they are charged at the register is higher than the shelf price, sale price or advertised price, so long as the product is under $10.
