Pour one out for stadium reusable bottle bans.

The New York City Council passed a bill Wednesday requiring professional and college sports venues in the city to let ticketholders bring reusable drink containers into their events.

Any clever fans looking for a loophole to sneak liquor into games may still be out of luck — the reusable bottles would have to be empty to get in.

A new city law that bans discriminating against someone because of their height or weight went into effect last week, six months after Mayor Eric Adams first signed the legislation.

The law adds those two categories to the list of characteristics that are protected from housing, job and public discrimination — alongside things like age, gender, race, religion and sexual orientation,

Residents of District 7, which covers Manhattanville, Morningside Heights, Manhattan Valley, and Hamilton Heights, are joining New York City’s annual participatory budgeting process, through which community members can provide direct input on public spending. Community members throughout the city must submit their final votes by Friday for budget allocations.

New York City Council elections concluded on Tuesday with District 7 City Council member Shaun Abreu, CC ’14, holding his seat and District 9 City Council member Yusef Salaam victorious in his first City Council election.

Both City Council members will serve a two-year term because of a decennial redistricting process.

With around 21,000 votes cast, New York City Councilmember Gale Brewer took 81% of them, continuing her pattern of handily beating contenders for the District 6 Council seat. Diane di Stasio earned 17% of the vote, and Barbara Simpson got .07%. According to NY1, as of now, Brewer got more votes than any other councilmember in the city.

A slew of Upper West Side eateries for the first time are encouraging customers to bring their own reusable water bottles when dining at their establishments.

Councilmember Shaun Abreu, along with the neighborhood nonprofit It’s Easy Being Green, recently organized multiple local stores and restaurants to take part in the environmentally friendly push.

Tis’ the season and we don’t mean the holidays. The Participatory Budget process has reopened again in the neighborhood, and you can currently submit ideas for projects to get funded on the Upper West Side and in Morningside Heights.

Recycling bins at the entrance to Riverside Park at West 72nd Street, a playground specifically for senior citizens at West 85th Street and Amsterdam Avenue, more street lighting throughout the UWS District 6, and an elevator at the West 110th Street 1 train station are some of the suggestions already submitted in the Participatory Budgeting process for the next fiscal year.

More than a dozen Israeli hostage posters have been ripped down between West 72nd and West 92nd Streets on the Upper West Side. A count carried out by West Side Rag on Wednesday morning found 15 of the posters torn up or almost completely taken down on different sections of Broadway, Amsterdam, and Columbus Avenues within the 20-block stretch.
