City Hall, New York– Today, the New York City Council passed two bills to combat immigration legal service fraud, commonly known as “notario fraud.” These are the most comprehensive efforts by a city to address this issue, amid the Trump administration’s anti-immigrant policies, leaving many immigrant communities fearful, anxious, and confused about their legal options to avoid detention and deportation.
