BROOKLYN, NY — A new adult fitness area and playground improvements has recently been made at Prospect Park, according to officials.
The new developments came after $850,000 in funding through the District 39 participatory budget.
As of a result, the Prospect Park Alliance has enhanced Harmony Playground with a sandbox shade structure and expanded the adult fitness area adjacent to the playground with equipment that is universally accessible for all ability levels.
These include equipment for abdominal crunches, chest and back presses, leg lifts, pull-ups, dips, squats and more. Improvements also include new seating, plantings and safety surface to enhance the visitor experience, officials said.
The Prospect Park Alliance, Council Member Shahana Hanif and community members from Good Neighbors of Park Slope held a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new adult fitness area and playground improvements on Friday.
