“September 11th is a day that forever changed our city and this nation, and it carries so much pain. As a native New Yorker, I share in the feeling that it will remain a day we never forget. We will always remember the thousands of people we lost here in New York City, other parts of the country, and due to illness from toxic exposure at Ground Zero. The long-term health of thousands have been impacted, and so many families continue to struggle with the aftermath. We must continue to surround them with love and support. The heroic and compassionate spirit of New Yorkers in the face of such immense tragedy is what defines us. When we stand together, we are always stronger to overcome.”
