“New York City needs to send a message that violence and bigotry are not welcome anywhere in America and certainly not here in the five boroughs. I am grateful the NYPD has said they are looking into the vicious and cowardly attacks caught on video Friday night, and urge them to quickly bring the perpetrators to justice. New York is the most proudly diverse city in the world, and the ‘Proud Boys” and their loathsome brand of intolerance represent the opposite of everything we stand for.”
