City Councilwoman Lynn Schulman, center, arrived in Forest Hills last week bearing gifts for the 112th Precinct — in this case two new patrol vehicles.

NYPD Assistant Chief Christine Bastedenbeck, left, the commanding officer of Patrol Borough Queens North, and Capt. David Cordano, the CO at the Austin Street station house, were there to accept the owner’s manuals.

Schulman told the Chronicle that many precincts in the city have expressed concerns about keeping older vehicles with more mileage out on patrol on a consistent basis. She said the NYPD should be getting more cars in the new budget in July.
