“We have spoken to the NYPD and are awaiting a full briefing on what happened on Friday night outside of the Metropolitan Republican Club.

As representatives of this district, we are horrified by the language used and the violence that occurred. This behavior is unacceptable in all forms.

Our political institutions have a responsibility to ensure that we do not invite hate speech or incite violence in our community. We are deeply disappointed in the decision to invite a speaker with a long history of hate speech but know that as a community we are much better than his words and actions.”
