STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — New York City Council Minority Leader Joseph Borelli (R-South Shore) will be distributing COVID-19 antigen home tests at his district office this week.

Beginning Wednesday through Friday, Jan. 26 to 28, constituents can schedule an appointment to pick up tests at the councilman’s office, located at 2955 Veterans Road West Suite #2E.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A Staten Islander again took the reins of the Republican opposition in the Democrat-dominated New York City Council on Wednesday.

City Councilman Joseph Borelli (R-South Shore) succeeded outgoing Councilman Steven Matteo (R-Mid-Island) as the minority leader, and in January will have the most Republicans in the Council in over a decade.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – A bill introduced by Councilman Joe Borelli (R-south Shore) will lower the hefty restitution price tag that often gets passed down to homeowner for removal of a city-owned tree.

The most recent standard for tree restitution, paid to the city Parks Department and set by Local Law 3 of 2010, calculates the value of a tree’s loss by looking at how many trees must be planted to replace it, using a formula based on the tree’s age, size and health of its roots, trunk and branches.

STATEN ISLAND N.Y.– Friday morning, New York City Council member Joseph Borelli, Borough President James Oddo, and Borough Parks Commissioner Lynda Ricciardone came together at Lemon Creek Park to announce its upcoming renovation.
