Non-City Capital Funding for Non-Profits
Non-City Capital Funding Fiscal Year (FY) 2026
Deadlines:
- Projects submitted jointly to the Borough President and Council: Thursday, February 20 at 5:00pm
- Projects submitted to City Council only: Thursday, March 20 at 5:00pm
Important notes:
What does “Non-City Capital” mean? This is for eligible community-based organizations (not NYC Agencies) who meet the City’s guidelines
CapGrants Accounts:
- If your organization has an existing CapGrants account from FY24 or FY25, log in using the same credentials
- If you’ve forgotten your password, reset it on the login page
- New organizations (those that did not create an account in FY24 or FY25) must create an account this year. Don’t wait – register now!
To be eligible to meet with Council Member Sanchez or receive discretionary funding you must first SUBMIT a FY2026 New York City Council Discretionary Funding Application or be considered a government entity such as Public Schools, CUNY Schools, NYCHA Tenant Associations, Community Boards, etc.

Resolution A Funding for Schools
Reso A Funding for Fiscal Year (FY) 26
Deadline: Friday, March 28, 2025, by 5 pm
Reso A Eligibility Requirements:
- All grants must be a minimum of $50,000
Which schools are eligible?
- All DOE elementary, middle, and high schools
- Charter schools in a shared DOE building (if not in a shared DOE building, can still apply for equipment, but not construction)
Project guidelines:
- Capital construction projects must provide permanent enhancement to the facility
- Equipment projects must have a minimum lifespan of five years
- Technology grants (e.g. Smartboards, laptops, desktops, STEM carts) must have a minimum lifespan of three years
Projects Not Eligible for Reso A Funding:
- Window air conditioning units
- Library books
- Loose furniture: desks, chairs, cafeteria tables, bookshelves
- Photocopiers
- Software
- Toner cartridges and other technology-based supplies
- Staffing and After School Programs
- IMPORTANT! Unfortunately, due to a change in SCA rules, water fountains are no longer eligible for Reso A funding (from FY25 allocations onward)
