COUNCIL MEMBER PIERINA SANCHEZ, CHCF, ELECTED OFFICIALS, AND COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS HOST 3rd ANNUAL MORRIS AVE BLOCK PARTY

Bronx, NY – On Saturday, August 17, at 12:00 PM at the intersection of Morris Avenue and West Burnside Avenue Council Member Pierina Sanchez, the Committee for Hispanic Children and Families (CHCF), electeds, and community partners hosted the Third Annual Morris Ave Block Party and Family Resource Fair – a day of festivities and unity for the residents of District 14. The event brought on vital resources and serviced over 900 residents, offering youth programming opportunities to tenant assistance.

The Third Annual Morris Avenue Block Party and Family Resource Fair brings together over 400+ neighbors, and over 20+ community-based organizations, city agencies, and colleges and universities to table at the event and connect with residents of District 14. The resource fair provides District 14 residents access to free financial empowerment services and resources for healthcare, English classes, summer programming for youth and more.

“For the third year in a row, our office has hosted our annual block party to bring vital resources to our community and offer support to our families. Under-resourced communities cannot thrive on matters of safety, education and health if the barriers to accessing these resources continue. I am grateful for the contributions made by CHCF, elected officials, and our local partners, as we coordinated to equip constituents with crucial resources while offering District 14’s families a day of fun activities. Continuing to provide and expand resources to our constituents in need must remain a priority, not just in District 14 but throughout the entire city,” said Council Member Pierina Sanchez.

“We are incredibly grateful to Council Member Pierina Sanchez for joining with CHCF to co-host our annual block party and making this wonderful event possible. Her support and dedication to fostering unity and positivity in our neighborhood is truly appreciated. Events like these are vital in building strong relationships with our neighbors,” said Ramon Peguero, President & CEO, CHCF
