STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – The Great Kills Veterans Memorial now bursts with color, featuring three large planters filled with vibrant flowers and neatly landscaped plants.

On Tuesday morning, Borough President Vito Fossella, Councilman Joseph Borelli (R-South Shore), and representatives from the South Shore Business Improvement District (BID) celebrated the completion of this beautification project.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Red trolleys roll back over the South Shore’s serpentine streets this August for a one-day-only food crawl. The seventh annual, premium restaurant touring event returns on Sunday, Aug. 11 focused solely on select Annadale, Great Kills and Eltingville eateries.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Late-night riders of the Staten Island Railway (SIR) can now feel safer entering and exiting the Great Kills train station.

On Tuesday, Councilman Joe Borelli (R-South Shore) announced that new lighting fixtures have been installed in a dark alley at the rear entrance of the station.
