Council Member Borelli (R-South Shore) is teaming up with non-profit organization ArtBridge, known for their work in the New York City community to empower local artists to transform prominent urban spaces into gallery quality exhibitions, to help bring some holiday spirit to the streets within the South Shore Business Improvement District (Annadale, Eltingville, Great Kills).

All art materials will be distributed at Council Member Borelli’s Office located at 2955 Veterans Road West Suite #2E Staten Island, NY to help students, friends, and families, create unique, festive and artful wreaths and ornaments of the artisans’ choice. All artists’ holiday creations will be hung from street posts and other South Shore locations throughout December.  

Borelli said, “We’re really excited for this project to begin. With the ongoing pandemic, we’ve never had a greater need for festive streets. This is a great opportunity for Staten Islanders to join forces and channel their creative artistic expression in the name of holiday fun.”

Provided below are instructions for participants looking to sign up. All aspects of this project will comply with current COVID restrictions and best practices for social distancing.

• All Staten Island residents are welcome to participate and can call (718) 984-5151 to register. Free art supplies will be available at the Council Members’ district office, starting December 2^nd through December 9^th. If you need to purchase your own additions, ArtBridge can reimburse the first 25 participants up to $30 with the receipt included.
• Participants can create any holiday theme of their choosing, from hand-painted wreaths, to uniquely designed ornaments, to dazzling collages of stars—the more creative the better.
• After finishing your creation(s), you will drop them off at the Councilman’s office, which will work with the South Shore BID to hang them.
• Artists name and information will be added to project.
