The Committee on Criminal Justice has jurisdiction over issues relating to New York City’s Department of Correction and New York City’s Department of Probation.

New York City’s Department of Correction provides for the care, custody, and control of persons accused of crimes or convicted and sentenced to one year or less of jail time.

New York City’s Department of Probation works with and supervises people on probation.
