MAYOR BLOOMBERG ANNOUNCES THAT A SPECIAL ELECTION FOR THE 44TH COUNCIL DISTRICT IN BROOKLYN WILL BE HELD ON MARCH 23rd

Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg announced today that a special election will be held in the 44th Council District on Tuesday, March 23rd, to fill the vacancy created yesterday by the resignation of Council Member Simcha Felder. The newly-elected Council Member will serve until December 31, 2010. Pursuant to the City Charter, the nomination of candidates in this election will be by independent nominating petition.
