Construction will begin in early 2025.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe are on a Chicken Finger takeover in the Big Apple!\u201d the spokesperson wrote in a statement. \u201cOur goal is to open doors in the fall of 2025, bringing our ONE LOVE &#8211; craveable Chicken Finger meals &#8211; to Morningside Heights.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Raising Cane\u2019s signed a lease after Mel\u2019s Burger Bar\u2019s Upper West Side location&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.columbiaspectator.com\/arts-and-culture\/2023\/12\/15\/mels-burger-bar-closing-permanently-on-sunday-management-confirms\/\">closed<\/a>&nbsp;in December 2023. The bar, popular among Columbia students, closed after more than 10 years in business. New York City Council member Shaun Abreu, CC \u201914,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/ShaunAbreu\/status\/1810372733198610643\">posted<\/a>&nbsp;on X Monday about his excitement for the Raising Cane\u2019s.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cGreat news coming to Morningside!\u201d Abreu wrote, referencing the new location. \u201cMy favorite spot when I was in NOLA for law school.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The fast food chain currently has seven other locations in New York City, with the closest one to Columbia currently located at 124 W. 125th St. Raising Cane\u2019s is rapidly expanding, having opened 100 locations in 2023 alone, including a flagship location in Times Square.
