(Rat poison also played a role in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thecity.nyc\/2021\/09\/21\/barry-the-owl-was-poisoned-before-central-park-truck-hit-her\/\">the death of Barry<\/a>, another celebrity owl.) In the proposed pilot, pellets would be spread in a series of ten-block zones around the city and have their efficacy tracked over the course of a year.
