{"id":80,"date":"2026-02-17T14:02:22","date_gmt":"2026-02-17T19:02:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/council.nyc.gov\/sandy-nurse\/?page_id=80"},"modified":"2026-04-07T19:13:49","modified_gmt":"2026-04-07T23:13:49","slug":"citation-requests","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/council.nyc.gov\/sandy-nurse\/citation-requests\/","title":{"rendered":"Citation &amp; Proclamation Requests"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Citations<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For special events, Council Member Nurse is able to provide City Council citations to recognize persons from District 37 who provide exemplary service to their community, whether through unique personal achievement in their professional or other endeavors or simply through a lifetime of philanthropy and community service.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Please complete this <a href=\"https:\/\/forms.gle\/xYq27qtofFd6ViLGA\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/forms.gle\/xYq27qtofFd6ViLGA\">Citation Request <\/a>form <strong>at least&nbsp;<em>two weeks<\/em>&nbsp;prior to the event <\/strong>to ensure timely processing.<\/p>\n<div style=\"height:19px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Proclamations<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Council presents proclamations to community leaders and organizations for their retirements, their birthdays (if they are over 75), their anniversaries (that end in 5 or 0), or as a part of a Council Chambers event.<\/p>\n<p>To submit a proclamation request, please email our office with the following:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Honoree name and why a proclamation is requested for them.<\/li>\n<li>A brief biography of the honoree. The biography should tell a story about the life of the honoree and their connection to District 37 (300-400 words). Resumes are not accepted.<\/li>\n<li>Date of event.<\/li>\n<li>Information about the event. You can send in a picture of an invitation or a link to an event page.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Proclamation requests&nbsp;<strong>must be submitted more than 15 business days before the event<\/strong>. If a request is submitted within less time, you&nbsp;<strong>must&nbsp;<\/strong>also submit a proclamation draft (as an attachment) and there is no guarantee that it will be finished on time for your event.
