Please read this page thoroughly.&nbsp;<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The City Council has a discretionary funding process, and each individual member can fund services, programs, and infrastructure projects for their district. The two forms of discretionary funding are&nbsp;<strong>expense funding&nbsp;<\/strong>and&nbsp;<strong>capital funding<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Expense funding<\/strong>&nbsp;is discretionary funding that supports programs and services.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Capital funding<\/strong>&nbsp;is funding that supports physical infrastructure projects.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Please note that these funds&nbsp;<strong>are not grants<\/strong>. You&nbsp;<strong>must<\/strong>&nbsp;be able to spend the money up front, and you will be reimbursed by the City. Before you apply for discretionary funding, we encourage organizations, especially first-time applicants, to attend a workshop with the Non-Profit Help Desk to fully understand the expectations and process of discretionary funding. You can register for a workshop <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jccgci.org\/the-nonprofit-helpdesk\/workshops\/#upcomingdiscretionaryfundingworkshops\"><strong>here<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Discretionary Funding Applications<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The application process is now <strong>closed<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Capital Funding Applications&nbsp;<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To apply, you must submit your application via the CapGrants portal <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nyc.gov\/site\/capitalgrants\/capgrants-portal\/capgrants-portal.page\"><strong>here<\/strong><\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><em>Deadlines<\/em><\/span>:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>For projects requesting funds from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.brooklynbp.nyc.gov\/departments\/budget\/\"><strong>Borough President<\/strong><\/a> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><em>and<\/em><\/span> City Council:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The application process is now <strong>closed.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>For projects requesting funds <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">only<\/span><\/em> from City Council:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>March 19 \u2013 All applications must be submitted by 5:00 PM.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><em>For Cultural Organizations Requesting Capital Funding:<br \/><\/em><\/span>Those interested in applying can find additional information and application materials through the&nbsp;<strong>Department of Cultural Affairs (DCLA)&#8217;s<\/strong>&nbsp;online portal (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nyc.gov\/site\/dcla\/index.page\"><strong>click here<\/strong><\/a>).<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Cultural Capital Funding Eligibility:<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Members of the&nbsp;Cultural Institutions Group (CIG), and<\/li>\n<li>Cultural nonprofits&nbsp;based in New York City&nbsp;that have received&nbsp;at least one baseline Cultural Development Fund (CDF) recommendation&nbsp;through the DCLA Program Services Unit in fiscal years&nbsp;2023, 2024, or 2025.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">District 37 Budget Request Process<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our office <strong>FY27 Supplemental Discretionary Funding Form<\/strong> is now closed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Due to the high volume of applications, we are taking meetings on a case by case basis.
