While there, the Councilmember announced that she secured $162,000 in this year\u2019s budget for technology upgrades at the school.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Earlier this month, Councilmember Ung announced a $1.075 million allocation she secured to fund upgrades to the auditorium at P177Q The Robin Sue Ward School, a District 75 school located in her district.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the Fiscal Year 2025 budget, Councilmember Ung was able to secure over $5.8 million for schools in her district. Since taking office in 2022, the Councilmember has allocated $15.5 million for capital projects at schools in District 20.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThis funding will help upgrade technology with tools like laptops and 3-D printing labs, renovate bathrooms and auditoriums, improve safety measures, and make much-needed improvements to gymnasiums, art rooms, and other spaces that support the holistic development of our students,\u201d said Councilmember Sandra Ung. \u201cWhen we invest in our schools, we are investing in our children\u2014the future leaders, innovators, and change-makers of tomorrow. Every dollar spent improving their educational experience is a dollar invested in a brighter future for our community and city. These investments show our students that we believe in their potential and that they deserve safe, modern, and inspiring spaces to learn, create, and grow.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A complete breakdown of all FY25 school funding includes:<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u25cf $750,000 for safety upgrades to the atrium and $100,000 for classroom technology at P.S. 20;<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u25cf $360,000 for technology upgrades and $50,000 for auditorium upgrades at P.S. 22;<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u25cf $150,000 for security upgrades at P.S. 24;<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u25cf $350,000 for auditorium upgrades and $50,000 for a 3-D printer lab at P.S. 162;<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u25cf $50,000 for electrical upgrades in the gym and $250,000 for supplemental cooling at P.S. 163;<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u25cf $250,000 for auditorium upgrades, $90,000 for technology upgrades, and $140,000 for bathroom renovations at P.S. 214;<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u25cf $260,000 for restroom renovations and $90,000 to replace the gymnasium floor at P.S. 237;<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u25cf $250,000 for technology upgrades at P.S. 242;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u25cf $100,000 for technology upgrades and $100,000 for new water bottle-filling stations at P.S. 244;<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u25cf $169,000 to expand the computer science and 3-D printing program at Veritas Academy;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u25cf $430,000 for an auditorium project at Flushing High School;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u25cf $150,000 for gymnasium upgrades at Queens Academy High School; and<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u25cf $1.075 million for auditorium upgrades, $350,000 for bathroom renovations, and $300,000 to remodel the art room at P177Q The Robin Sue Ward School for Exceptional Children.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cSince taking office in 2022, I\u2019ve prioritized the needs of our schools, allocating $15.5 million for capital projects to enhance the educational experience and expand opportunities for students,\u201d said Councilmember Ung. \u201cThe schools in our district are among the most sought-after and successful in New York City, and that success is no accident.
