Councilmember Sandra Ung visited PS 162 in Fresh Meadows on Wednesday morning to attend the school\u2019s first assembly of the year, during which the Citizens of the Month and MVP\u2019s for September were recognized. While there, the Councilmember announced that she secured $162,000 in this year\u2019s budget for technology upgrades at the school.<\/p>\n

In the Fiscal Year 2024 budget, Councilmember Ung was able to secure over $4.5 million for schools in her district. Since taking office last year, the Councilmember has allocated $9.7 million for school capital projects.<\/p>\n

The Councilmember has visited several schools in her district over the past two weeks to announce budget allocations. A complete breakdown of all FY24 school funding includes:<\/p>\n

\u25cf $350,000 for PS 22 (Tech Upgrades\/STEAM Programs)<\/p>\n

\u25cf $577,000 for PS 24 (Auditorium Renovations)<\/p>\n

\u25cf $88,000 for PS 120 (iPad Carts)<\/p>\n

\u25cf $158,000 for PS 162 (Technology Upgrades)<\/p>\n

\u25cf $50,000 for PS 163 (Gym Renovations)<\/p>\n

\u25cf $500,000 for PS 214 (Auditorium\/Playground Renovations)<\/p>\n

\u25cf $310,000 for PS 242 (New Flooring\/Technology Upgrades)<\/p>\n

\u25cf $425,000 for PS 244 (Gym Renovations\/Technology Upgrades)<\/p>\n

\u25cf $750,000 for P177 (Schoolyard Improvements)<\/p>\n

\u25cf $705,000 for JHS 189 (Auditorium Renovations)<\/p>\n
