That being said, I am pleased that the Mayor and Commissioner Kelly are moving swiftly and appropriately to remove these two men from the Police Department and for acknowledging their inappropriate actions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLike District Attorney Vance, I praise the victim\u2019s courage to bring such a shocking and extremely personal case public, knowing that the road to justice would not be an easy one. While many are deterred from speaking out on such issues, we are reminded by this case the importance of standing up for our individual rights and personal safety.
