\u201cThis is a tremendously sad day for immigrants across the country who will be forced to remain in the shadows. It is now more urgent than ever for Congress to act on comprehensive immigration reform -we can\u2019t wait any longer. I also urge President Obama to cease immigration raids. <\/p>\n

\u201cThis decision is disheartening and only fuels the hateful rhetoric that has been spewed by those who believe that immigrants are less deserving of a better life for themselves and their families. Today, the Supreme Court turned its back on programs which would have protected the millions of undocumented immigrants and families who have contributed so much to this nation\u2019s economy and have shaped our city. This ruling goes against the very values we are known for.<\/p>\n

\u201cDespite this unfortunate decision, New York City will continue to support all of our residents, regardless of immigration status, with the resources and tools necessary to participate as productive members of this city. We will not allow ugly rhetoric and fearmongering to get the way of building a better city.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cEste es un d\u00eda muy triste para los inmigrantes en todo el pa\u00eds que se ver\u00e1n obligados a permanecer en las sombras. Ahora m\u00e1s que nunca es urgente que el Congreso tome acci\u00f3n sobre la reforma de inmigraci\u00f3n integral \u2013 no podemos esperar m\u00e1s. Tambi\u00e9n insisto que el Presidente Obama deber\u00eda parar las redadas de inmigrantes. <\/p>\n

\u201cEsta decisi\u00f3n es desalentadora y s\u00f3lo alimenta la ret\u00f3rica de odio de aquellos que creen que los inmigrantes son menos merecedores de una vida major para ellos y sus familias. Hoy, la Corte Suprema dio la espalda a los programas que hubieran protegido a los millones de inmigrantes indocumentados y sus familias que han contribuido tanto a la econom\u00eda de la naci\u00f3n y han dado forma a nuestra ciudad. Esta decisi\u00f3n va en contra de los valores por los que se nos conoce.<\/p>\n

\u201cA pesar de esta lamentable decisi\u00f3n, la ciudad de Nueva York seguir\u00e1 apoyando a todos nuestros residentes, independientemente del estatus migratorio, con los recursos y herramientas necesarias para que participen como miembros productivos de esta ciudad.
