Giving businesses the opportunity to establish a New York City identity online is an initiative the Council has worked on since 2008, when the Committee on Technology in Government held a hearing on a resolution to support local efforts for dot NYC.<\/p>\n<p>From the bodega down the block to the pizza parlor around the corner, soon every New York City business will have the opportunity to register its own dot NYC domain. We applaud the Bloomberg Administration for working with the Council on innovative new ideas like this one that will support our businesses and bring additional revenue into the City.
