Quinn:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am disheartened by the International Olympic Committee\u2019s decision not to hold a minute of silence at this year\u2019s opening ceremony to mark the 40th anniversary of the killing of 11 Israeli nationals at the 1972 Munich Olympics. News that the IOC has observed a minute of silence in the athlete\u2019s village is a step forward, but it does not go far enough to properly remember the victims of that horrid act of terrorism.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA minute of silence at the Olympic opening ceremony would send a strong message of tolerance and peace to the world.
