\u201cThe Puerto Rico Oversight, Management, and Economic Stability Act (PROMESA) Act is not a promise for Puerto Rico\u2019s future – it\u2019s an anti-democratic bill that will upend the way of living in Puerto Rico as we know it. There can be no economic growth in Puerto Rico until the debt is restructured. Period. There are some elements of that in this bill, but not enough.<\/p>\n
\u201cI cannot and will not support a bill that imposes a fiscal control board in Puerto Rico. This legislation will prioritize the interests of the bondholders and not the people of Puerto Rico. Every day that goes by means more public services are shut down and that the health care crisis will continue to deepen. \u201cLa Ley de Supervisi\u00f3n, Administraci\u00f3n y Estabilidad Econ\u00f3mica de Puerto Rico (PROMESA) no es ninguna promesa para el futuro de Puerto Rico \u2013 es una medida anti democr\u00e1tica que cambiar\u00e1 la manera de vivir en Puerto Rico como la conocemos. No puede haber crecimiento econ\u00f3mico en Puerto Rico hasta que la deuda sea reestructurada. Punto. Hay algunos elementos sobre esto en esta medida, pero no suficiente.<\/p>\n
