Members Hailing From All Five Boroughs Say NYC Has the Logistics, the Capacity and Venues to Host Convention In 2016
\nBROOKLYN- Today, New York City Council Members from all five boroughs expressed their strong support for the drive to bring the 2016 Democratic National Convention to New York. The members noted that New York City has an unparalleled history and infrastructure that makes Brooklyn the clear choice to host the Democratic National Convention.<\/p>\n
“New York is where Democratic values are more than words, it\u2019s where Democrats have achieved real, meaningful progress that has made people\u2019s lives better,” said Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito. “That’s why, in 2016, the Democratic Party\u2014the Party of the Middle Class\u2014should hold its convention in the home of the middle class. Come 2016, the Democratic National Committee should look no further than Brooklyn, New York, to nominate the Democrat who will go onto be the next President of the United States.”<\/p>\n

Delegates will get around easily, allowing them to revel in the culture of our incredible borough, support local businesses and interact with the largest and most diverse block of Democratic voters in the country.
