I want to congratulate Proyecto ENLACE, community leaders and the local, municipal, state and federal agencies that have worked tirelessly to achieve this goal. I also would like to thank Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand for her unwavering support that led to an unprecedented congressional visit to El Ca\u00f1o in January at the invitation from my office. There is still much more to do until the dredging is completed and the quality of life of the eight communities that surround el Ca\u00f1o Mart\u00edn Pe\u00f1a is up to the standard they deserve. I\u2019ll keep supporting these efforts and assist in any way possible to better the lives of the thousands of families living near the Ca\u00f1o Mart\u00edn Pe\u00f1a.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>DECLARACI\u00d3N POR LA PRESIDENTA MARK-VIVERITO <\/p>\n<p>RE: CUERPO DE INGENIEROS DEL EJ\u00c9RCITO APRUEBA ESTUDIO DE VIABILIDAD SOBRE EL DRAGADO DEL CA\u00d1O MART\u00cdN PE\u00d1A <\/p>\n<p>Nueva York\u2014 \u201cEstoy emocionada tras conocer acerca del acuerdo entre el Cuerpo de Ingenieros del Ej\u00e9rcito y la Agencia de Protecci\u00f3n Ambiental para completar el estudio de viabilidad sobre el dragado del Ca\u00f1o Mart\u00edn Pe\u00f1a. Quiero felicitar al Proyecto ENLACE, los l\u00edderes comunitarios y las agencias locales, municipales, estatales y federales que han trabajado arduamente para lograr esta victoria. Tambi\u00e9n, quiero agradecer a la Senadora Kirsten Gillibrand por su inquebrantable apoyo que propici\u00f3 una visita congresional sin precedentes en enero a petici\u00f3n de mi oficina en enero de este a\u00f1o.
