\u201cWe are outraged at the inhumane decision by the Dominican Republic\u2019s to threaten to deport hundreds of thousands of migrant workers of Haitian descent. In a 2013 troubling decision, a constitutional court stripped the citizenship of children born to Haitian immigrants. As a consequence, the government ordered undocumented workers and their children to register in the nation\u2019s civil registry, but that doesn\u2019t guarantee they will be allowed to stay. We call upon the Dominican government to review this decision and allow a humane path to citizenship to the hundreds of thousands of immigrants of Haitian descent and the Dominican-born children of Haitian descent. It is the humane and right thing to do.\u201d<\/p>\n

En una decisi\u00f3n problem\u00e1tica del 2013, una corte constitucional le quit\u00f3 la ciudadan\u00eda a hijos de inmigrantes haitianos. Como consecuencia, el gobierno orden\u00f3 que los trabajadores indocumentados y sus hijos tienen que registrarse en el registro civil de la naci\u00f3n, pero eso no garantiza que les permitan quedarse en el pa\u00eds.
