Council Member Peter Koo stated the following regarding an anonymous political mailer circulating in Edison, New Jersey that calls for the deportation of Asian candidates.

“This is true cowardice. Sadly, the bigoted toxicity of anonymous internet message boards has made its way to these political mailers in Edison, New Jersey. I strongly encourage the voters of Edison turn out in force on November 7th to beat back this intolerance by exercising their rights to vote.”

Flushing, NY – Council Member Peter Koo and State Assemblywoman Nily Rozic today announced the upcoming installation of a long-awaited traffic signal at the intersection of Parsons Boulevard and Rose Avenue in Kissena Park, Flushing.

Koo, Rozic and other elected officials and residents have been pushing for a traffic signal at the intersection since 2015 when Min-Tsu Lin was struck by a hit and run driver.

Flushing, NY – Council Member Peter Koo and the Greater Flushing Chamber of Commerce today joined the NYC Department of Sanitation and the Flushing Library to announce an upcoming sanitation forum to educate business owners about the new recycling rules and regulations that went into effect this year. As of August 1, 2017, the city began enforcing new recycling regulations requiring all businesses to recycle metal, glass, beverage cartons, paper, cardboard, and other items.

Int. No. 1678 will amend the definition of harassment under the Housing Maintenance Code to include discriminatory threats and requests for proof of citizenship.
