The plan will support more housing, jobs across many industries, public space improvements, and local infrastructure investments.<\/h5>\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"-1\">The plan aims to:<\/h5>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"has-small-font-size\">Provide a shared vision for the future of the neighborhood.<\/li>\n<li class=\"has-small-font-size\">Plan through a participatory process that includes community leaders, community organizations, City agencies, and the general public.<\/li>\n<li class=\"has-small-font-size\">Identify how and where we grow.<\/li>\n<li class=\"has-small-font-size\">Coordinate investments in infrastructure and services.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>What is the status of the plan?<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\" id=\"the-planning-process-will-be-organized-in-four-phases-with-the-first-two-phases-including-an-extensive-public-outreach-process--the-four-phases-of-the-planning-process-include--7\">The planning process will be organized in four phases with the first two phases including an extensive public outreach process. The four phases of the planning process include:<\/h3>\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Phase 1: Organize<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Connect with the communities to develop an outreach and engagement plan<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Phase 2: Learn<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Develop a shared vision and goals for the future of the neighborhood<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Phase 3: Create (We are here!)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Create: Build recommendations to address key community priorities<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Phase 4: Finalize<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Synthesize ideas into an action plan<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Draft Zoning Framework<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">On Saturday February 10 at the working group summit, we shared draft zoning concepts which is a sketch of how we&#8217;re thinking of approaching the zoning section of the neighborhood plan based on what we&#8217;ve heard so far. Below is a copy of the draft zoning framework. A comprehensive vision statement and guiding principles were crafted to accomplish this goal, capturing the community&#8217;s core values and collective vision for Jamaica&#8217;s desired future. This collaborative process involved extensive public engagement and input from local officials, residents, and community organizations, leading to the adoption of the following vision statement:<\/h6>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jamaica is&nbsp;<strong>prosperous<\/strong>&nbsp;thanks to its&nbsp;<strong>affordability &amp;<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;inclusivity,&nbsp;diverse&nbsp;community,&nbsp;investment activity &amp; business&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>opportunities<\/strong><\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"the-vision-for-jamaica-intends-to-inspire-current-and-future-community-members-to-work-together-to-build-a-better-neighborhood--17\">The vision for Jamaica intends to inspire current and future community members to work together to build a better neighborhood.<\/h3>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Guiding principles<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\" id=\"a-set-of-shared-objectives-or-themes-emerged-through-the-public-engagement-process--these-themes-evolved-into-overarching-principles-that-will-inclusively-shape-the-planning-process-and-future-strategies--18\">A set of shared objectives or themes emerged through the public engagement process.
