This evening, Council Member Margaret Chin participated in the 31st Annual National Night Out, which brings together local residents and police officials in the spirit of community as they work together to reduce crime.

Council Member Chin appeared at all of the NYPD command centers in her Lower Manhattan district, which include the First, Fifth, Sixth and Seventh Precincts, as well as Police Service Area 4 and Transit District 2. During those appearances, Council Member Chin also met with the community councils which cover all of those precincts, as well as numerous local residents who attended the events.

“National Night Out has always provided a great opportunity for residents to really get to know the hardworking NYPD officers who cover their areas, and I was proud to join it again this year,” said Council Member Chin. “I believe this year’s event took on a particularly important meaning, as we all continue to work together toward a better, stronger and more trusting relationship between communities and police. It was a pleasure meeting with our local officers, community council members and residents as we celebrate the advances we have made, and as we keep striving to make our city safer for everyone.”
