STATEN ISLAND, N.Y.– Recently opened to the public last week, the brand new E.M.T. Christopher J. Prescott Sensory Playground is already drawing kids and families to play and enjoy the summer.

There is something for everyone at the park, from an interactive sign language alphabet to percussion drums, and more classical playground features such as a swing set and sprinklers.

The playground was unveiled in a ribbon cutting ceremony last week attended by Borough President James Oddo, Borough Parks Commissioner Lynda Ricciardone, and Councilman Joseph Borelli (R-South Shore).

A total of roughly $4 million was put into the funding of the park, coming from Oddo and Borelli’s offices.
